When you see this web  page, you will be amazed. I had never heard this expression before and I could not imagine what it meant. It is simply too inspiring not to share it with others. Below is the posting but be sure to visit the web page at the end  to view the inspiring pine tree.

Pine Tree Crosses

Last April on a Sunday we took one of our “nowhere” drives, my husband was quietly driving a back road. I was occupied in the front passenger seat watching the scenery. I noticed out of the corner of my eye that my husband was straining to look out my window. This startled me, since his eyes should be on the road in front of him. I asked him what he was looking at out the windows, and he quietly replied, “Nothing.” His eyes went back to the road in front of him.

After a few minutes, I looked over at my husband and noticed a tear running down his cheek. I asked him what was wrong. This time he told me, “I was just thinking about Pop and a story he had once told me.” Of course, because it had to do with his Pop I wanted to know the story, so I asked him to share it with me.

He said, “When I was about 8 years old, Pop and I were out fishing and that’s when he told me that the Pine trees know when it is Easter.” I had no idea what he meant by that, so I pressed him for more information. He continued on… “The Pine trees start their new growth in the weeks before Easter — if you look at the tops of the Pine trees two weeks before, you will see the yellow shoots. As the days get closer to Easter Sunday, the tallest shoot will branch off and form a cross. By the time Easter Sunday comes around, you will see that most of the Pine trees will have small yellow crosses on all of the tallest shoots.”

I turned to look out the window and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was a week before Easter, and you could see all of the trees with the tall yellow shoots stretching to Heaven. The tallest ones shone in the sunlight like rows of tiny golden crosses.

Our daughter challenged us to join her on a journey to health and fitness. Rather, it is her way of encouraging Dave and me to improve our health and fitness before it is too late. Shauna has always been involved in sports and fitness. Occasionally when backsliding rather than continue on a journey to destruction, she makes the necessary changes in her life. In contrast to Dave and I who just seem to continue on the journey. We realize that we should be making changes but we just can’t seem to get started.

Introducing Fit Fam for Life — a website and blog currently being developed for sharing our life journey as we seek to improve our health and fitness. The website is up and going even though some changes may occur. So, I invite you to join us on this journey to improved health and fitness. Our goal is to inspire and encourage others to make changes and improve their life. It is never too late.

Soul is an all natural wellness drink from Rain Nutrition. Many have improved their quality of life by using the Rain Nutrition products. Other products include Rush, an all natural energy drink, and Pure, a pro-biotic. Below is the testimony of a roofer in Columbus, Kansas who began taking Soul in September 2009.

What Has Soul Done For You?

“I am a roofer in Columbus, Kansas. On Oct. 28, 2007, I fell off of a roof, which resulted in a compound fracture to my right leg and torn ligaments in my left leg. After 3 major surgeries, it took me 6 months to walk again.

For the past year and a half I have endured swelling, and extreme pain to my right leg daily. This has kept me from normal day to day activities. Taking a simple walk through grass was just not possible.

In September 2009 I was introduced to Soul. Just a few short days after I began taking Soul I noticed that the swelling had decreased. a couple days later I noticed I was no longer limping. Soon I was able to walk down staircases and in grass without tripping or falling. I believe that Soul has changed by life. Thank you Rain Nutrition!”

There are times in our lives when we decide to do something that we never even considered a remote possibility. I often hear friends and acquaintances alike say that they would never do something. It may be referring to how another person is disciplining their child. It may be referring to dealing with a spouse who has not been faithful. It may be referring to parents dealing with their adult children. It does not matter what the situation, you should never say never especially if you have never been in a similar situation.

I have probably said numerous times that I would never use the familiar wellness drinks that are currently on the market. After my daughter was introduced to Rain Nutrition, my thoughts were still the same. She had shared the success stories from others that were almost unbelievable as well as her own thoughts. However, with the products being all natural and our daughter being so insistent, we decided to try the products. After all, what did we have to lose?

Well, we tried the products and the results were truly amazing. Dave and I are both feeling much better. Any pain that we had been experiencing has diminished tremendously. Dave had been getting shots in his knees every six months for several years now. He no longer needs those shots. Also, he had suffered from time to time from depression. His mood has changed dramatically and we both have increased energy. One day after going to lunch with fellow teachers, I came home and he was actually cleaning the house. He has never cleaned the house by himself in our 37 years of marriage.

Now, we not only use the products but we decided that if we were going to use the products that we would become a distributor. It just made sense to get the best value for your money. If you would like to know more about Rain Nutrition, please send me an email at sandy1020@insightbb.com.

Hoover Linx Cordless Vac

How would you like to have a stick vac that is easy to use and the performance is fantastic? Yesterday I purchased a Hoover Platinum Linx Stick Vac and after one day, I am recommending it for others to try. This is the best price that I have found either online on in the stores.

I once owned a corded model and it always seemed that the cord was either too short or there was not a convenient outlet nearby. I most recently owned an Electrolux stick vac and initially I loved it. It didn’t seem that it was long before the suction began to fade.  However, the Electrolux made me a lover of the cordless stick vac regardless.

Now I do realize that the suction of the Hoover Linx may not last as well. However, it does have a 6-year warranty so I thought it was worth the gamble. The battery is removable and can be replaced if that does occur and it is covered by the warranty. The Hoover Linx glides easily over the floor. It has a setting for the bare floor as well as a setting for the carpet. I was amazed at the dirt it picked up the first time I used it. It was also performed well and was easy to use on my throw rugs. The dirt cup is easy to empty and the filter is easily accessible as well as washable. I do not believe that you will be disappointed if you purchase the Hoover Linx.

As a teacher I can remember the snow days from the past — the snow days that did not have to be made up. Those were the good old days. Teachers and students alike always loved it when snow was in the forecast. Often I would stay up to watch the late news hoping the forecast would not change or that there was an increased accumulation predicted. There was much anticipation in the air as you would retire for bed dreaming of the snowy weather that was in the forecast. On those days, I would rise early and run to take a quick look outside.  If the snow had accumulated, I would then run to the television to listen and see if  we had enough snow for the schools to close. There were days that no one understood why we were in or out of school whatever the case may have been. Occasionally, there would be a 1-hour delay which created a chaotic day in attempting to complete everything necessary in the lesson plans.

In my final teaching years, there did not seem to be as much anticipation to the snow days. Snow days  just don’t seem to be the same since the law changed and they must now be made up. How often do we have an excessive number of snow days that it would really matter? Unless the extra days are included in the school calendar, the school year must be extended  making it difficult as many parents and teachers have already established plans for the beginning days of summer vacation. Although it sounds like it makes sense to make up the day, I often wonder how much additional learning takes place during those days.

What are your thoughts on making up snow days?

Are you in favor of snow make up days?
