Local Shopping Trips vs. Online Shopping
When you think of shopping, what most often comes to mind — maybe a leisurely day spent at the mall? or maybe a trip downtown filled with friends, or shopping, and lunch? We actually looked forward to these shopping experiences. What ever happened to those shopping trips that we once treasured? How could we let something that we all enjoyed so much disappear from our lives?
Our lives have become hectic and rushed in most everything we do, shopping included. We rush in and out of the stores in an attempt to make our purchases in the least amount of time as possible. We hesitate to make plans with our friends for lack of time or for fear of a conflict with our family activities. We have a very limited amount of time to care for our family and complete our family responsibilities let alone spend a leisurely day at the mall or local shops. We find that both parents in most families must work. Unfortunately the stay-at-home mom has almost become extinct. In addition to family responsibilities and work responsibilities, there are church, school, and other activities that require our precious time.
With the popularity of the internet, we discover that everything is moving in that direction. Most everyone sends and receives emails and uses the internet. Did you know that there are over 300 million users on Facebook and 100 million users were added in less than 9 months. There are over 200 million blogs. Our society has embraced the internet. We buy cars and even homes on the internet. Most people book their travel on the internet rather than visiting a travel agent. Most all kinds of insurance can now be purchased online. The list grows longer every day. Shopping is also moving to the internet. Shopping not only saves you time which is always lacking, but it also can save you money by earning cash back on your purchases. Many times you do not even have to pay shipping and handling and your purchases are delivered to your door. All of the above activities can take place while you are still in your pajamas leisurely drinking a cup of coffee.
The internet is here to stay. It is a part of a trend that will continue whether or not we are all on-board. I often wonder what will be next??? Are you on-board?
