Sleep, something we all do each night. Sometimes our sleep is affected by what is currently happening in our lives and we may be restless or unable to sleep. On the other hand, you may be totally relaxed and sleep like a baby. There have been six basic sleep positions identified. Derby Fever

This is a fun and exciting time of year in the Louisville area. Almost everyone catches the Derby fever. There are so many different events for everyone to attend. A few of the many events include Thunder Over Louisville, the Pegasus Parade, the Balloon Glimmer, the Great Steamboat Race, the Oaks, and of course the Kentucky Derby.

Each year when I was teaching I recall planning many learning activities associated with the Derby. Each year we would schedule a trip to the Derby Museum for the week preceding the Derby. It was always the favorite field trip of students, parents, and teachers too. Not only was it beautiful with all the tulips in bloom, but also there was an exciting atmosphere. The students always loved the activities associated with the Derby and the visit to Churchill Downs was the culminating activity. To be able to watch the Derby with their parents on Derby Day and see the places they had visited was a fascinating experience for them.

Christmas Fiasco . . .

I received this as an email and the source is unknown. It was too funny not to share with others. Be sure to read the story below the picture. It is hilarious.

“Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever.Great stories!!! But two things made me take it down.

First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.

Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn’t realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn’t take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard.”

Ron White on the Jay Leno show relates his experience with a woman friend who has a Scottish terrier that is about to die. Although the death of the Scottish terrier is not at all funny, he relates a hilarious story of selecting another dog to replace the one that died and then carries that a step further. You must watch it to see what I mean.
